Overview
We at CareerElement.com strive to provide a safe environment in which to search for jobs and connect to others. This privacy policy applies only to data and information collected directly by CareerElement.com and does not apply to third party sites that you may link to via CareerElement.com. By registering with CareerElement.com you are accepting the terms of this Statement and the use of your personal information as described within.
Personal Information
In order to operate the Site in an efficient and effective manner and provide users with information on job postings and services that may be of interest to them, CareerElement may collect personal information, including contact information (such as an email address), from its users. In addition, this information allows us to provide users with private and secure areas to post and modify their original content on our Sites (e.g., jobs and resumes).
We also automatically track certain information based upon your behavior on the Sites and use this information to do internal research on our users' demographics, interests, and behavior to better understand, protect and serve users in general. This information may include the URL that a user has just come from (whether this URL is on our Sites or not), the URL a user goes to next (whether this URL is on our Sites or not), a user's computer browser information, and their IP address.
Any passwords provided for third party sites, including Gmail, Yahoo, and Facebook, are not saved by CareerElement. We provide these contact retrieval and connection services as a convenience to our users and do not save any user information received from these sites on our server. CareerElement does however store your Facebook ID in order to send approved information to a user’s Facebook account via Facebook Connect. This is provided as a convenience to our users. You may edit this preference at any time by logging into your account.
While we attempt to limit access to our database to legitimate users, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized parties will not gain access. We also cannot control how authorized users store or transfer information downloaded from the database, so you should ensure that you do not post sensitive information to our website.
All users should be aware, however, that when they voluntarily display or distribute personal information (such as their email address or resume), that information can be collected and used by others. This may result in unsolicited messages from third parties for which CareerElement is not responsible.
The Use of Personal Information
We use the information you provide us to deliver the products and services we offer, and to operate and improve our sites. Our services may include the display of personalized content and advertising. We may use your information to contact you about CareerElement site updates, conduct surveys, or informational and service-related communications, including important security updates. If you would like to not receive these communications we encourage you to follow the opt-out options included in the communications.
Under user consent, we may use your information to contact you about other products or services available from our affiliates. We may also, under your consent, share your information with third parties who may contact you about their products or services.
We do share information where legally required. Information collected on our site is stored in the United States, and may be subject to U.S. law.
We may disclose and transfer all collected information in the event that our business is sold or acquired.
Cookies and Third Party Advertisers
CareerElement.com uses cookies only for the protection and convenience of our users. Cookies enable us to serve secure pages to our users without asking them to sign in repeatedly. If a user's system is idle for more than two hours, however, the cookie will expire, forcing the user to sign in again to continue their session. This prevents unauthorized access to the user's information while they are away from their computer. You may have the ability to reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent; however, some CareerElement features or services may not function properly without cookies.
